Gym to Crag
This course is perfect for those looking to safely transition to outdoor climbing. Geared toward individuals who have some experience climbing indoors and want to expand their climbing by learning the proper techniques to climb safely outdoors.
In this course you’ll learn about specific hazards inherent to outdoor climbing, and how to manage risk at the crag. You’ll also learn about the techniques and decision making skills necessary to climb outdoors on your own.
Courses are typically taught at Rifle Mountain Park, Colorado and The San Rafael Swell, Utah.
Prerequisites:
Students are expected to come into the course with a basic knowledge of roped climbing systems, including the figure 8 knot, belaying for a top rope climber, an understanding of the basic gear used in rock climbing, and an excellent attitude!
